Pipe bursting is a well-established method for trenchless replacement of worn out and/or undersized sewer pipes. The bursting head is inserted into the existing pipe drawn by a hydraulic pulling unit. As the impact of the bursting head shatters the host pipe, the new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is pulled through the void and the pipe is replaced in one action.
