Gravity Leak Locating

& Fell 21

The Fell 21 reads and locates cracks and faults in non metallic lines. The line under test is plugged with a common rubber plug. The line is then surcharged or filled with water. The Sonde is then mounted to the end of the fiberglass pushrod. The Sonde is pushed down the line by hand until it reaches the rubber plug. The Palm computer (PDA) is hard wired to the Sonde head and is in constant communication with it. The Sonde is activated and begins to emit a small electrical charge that travels thru the water that surrounds it. The fiberglass pushrod is now pulled back towards the operator. As the Sonde travels thru the pipe the electrical charge that it emits is constantly searching for a break or a crack or some other type of defect. The exact location of these cracks and defects are also plainly shown on the screen, allowing the technician to pinpoint precisely where the line needs to be repaired. This information can be uploaded to another computer and/or printed out on the spot for verification and analysis and shown to the customer.
